We need a CHANGE Candidate
We are paying more, but getting less.
Beachwood once prided itself on academic excellence. Today, U.S. News & World Report ranks Beachwood High School 75th in Ohio. That’s not good enough for a community that invests so heavily in its schools.
And even our superintendent admits this ranking is flawed. In his September 2025 letter, he explained that U.S. News mistakenly counted 119 students from outside districts as part of Beachwood High’s enrollment. Their test scores don’t count for Beachwood, but they are added to the total, artificially lowering our rank.
So yes, the system is flawed. But here’s the bigger issue: whether it’s 75th, 50th, or 25th — Beachwood is not in the top 10 anymore. We can’t ignore that reality.
The Taxpayer Reality
Over two-thirds of your property tax bill goes to schools.
Beachwood spends over $41 million a year on just 1,500 students.
That’s about $27,000 per student — almost double the Ohio average of $15,600.
And yet, our results have slipped.
When taxpayers invest this much, they deserve to see their schools leading the state — not falling behind.
Accountability, Not Blank Checks
The current board treats tax levies like an endless piggy bank. Costs rise. Taxes rise. But performance stalls.
We cannot continue down this path.
I will oppose new tax levies until we have accountability. Programs must be preserved, but leadership must answer for why our enormous investment isn’t translating into excellence.
Why This Matters to Everyone
Even if you don’t have kids in Beachwood Schools, this affects you. Over 70% of your property taxes go directly to the district. That’s your money. Your tax bill. Your community.
You deserve a school system that reflects the excellence — and the fiscal responsibility — that Beachwood stands for.
